This Summer, you will get a taste of the Indian folk art through a series of online workshops. The kids will be introduced to the art making styles of different tribe/region that has been in place for many centuries in India. They will then create a masterpiece in their own creative way, by adapting the styles inspired by the art form.

These online workshops will be conducted via ZOOM and are designed for children 7+ years. Interested younger children are welcome to register with participating older siblings or parental guidance. Supplies are available at additional cost and the details will be emailed to you after registration.

Gond Painting

Gond art is a decorative art form, practiced by the Gond people of Madhya Pradesh. One of the most captivating features of Gond art is its simplicity. Yet in the simplicity lies incredible intricacy and care. The characteristic feature of Gond painting is the line and dot technique that imparts a sense of dynamism to the paintings.

Madhubani Painting

Madhubani painting is one of the famous art forms that is practiced in the Mithila region of Bihar. The distinguishing feature of Madhubani paintings are that no corner is left empty and each painting is entirely filled with motifs and objects, maintaining a balance with vibrancy in its colors and simplicity in its patterns.

Warli art is one of the oldest forms of Indian folk art and has its origins in the Warli region of Maharashtra. It uses simple geometric shapes and lines to portray people, animals, nature and the daily activities. The biggest appeal of the Warli style of painting is its simplicity and the extremely expressive style.
