October 2020 Contest

Deepa Krishnan proudly presents an exciting series of FREE to enter, fun art contests for kids in the age group 4-14 years. Nothing like a good old-fashioned contest to get those creative neurons firing! Put your child's artistic skills to test and enter this ongoing monthly competition online!

October 2020 Contest

NOTE: The deadline to submit the entries have been extended to 31-Oct. The updated schedule for this month's contest is below.

The theme for this month's contest is "Underwater Scene". The artwork can be 2-D or 3-D, in any medium of your choice - drawing, painting, mixed media, relief sculpture or diorama. Use this opportunity to challenge yourself to explore new art media and techniques. Gather all the supplies and get ready to create your own original work of art.

Big thanks to all the participants for making this contest a huge success! Special thanks to all the parents for encouraging their children to participate in the contest! All kids created marvelous masterpieces and it was extremely hard for the panel of judges to select the winners. Congratulations to all the winners!

The next contest will be announced on 1-Jan-2021 with so many exciting surprises. Stay tuned!

Contest Details

By submitting your child's artwork here, you have read and accepted the following rules, terms, and conditions 📜.

Eligibility: Contest is open to all kids in the age group 4-14 years from any part of this world 🌎! Extra-terrestrials, please don't apply!!
The entries that have been submitted in the previous month's contests will not qualify for this month's contest. The artworks created in a class environment under the guidance of a teacher will not qualify for the contest.

Categories: The participants are grouped into the following categories as per their age at the time of participation.
  • Red Group: Ages 4 to 5 years
  • Yellow Group: Ages 6 to 8 years
  • Green Group: Ages 9 to 11 years
  • Blue Group: Ages 12 to 14 years

 Timelines: The updated timelines of the October contest are as follows.

* 1-Oct-2020: Contest Announcement for the month.
* 31-Oct-2020: Deadline to submit the artwork. 

* From 5-Nov-2020 to 9-Nov-2020: All qualifying entries from each age-group will be posted everyday in the website and social media pages.

* 15-Nov-2020: Announcement of Prize winners in the Red Group.
* 16-Nov-2020: Announcement of Prize winners in the Yellow Group.
* 17-Nov-2020: Announcement of Prize winners in the Green Group.
* 18-Nov-2020: Announcement of Prize winners in the Blue Group.

* 1-Jan-2020: December month Contest Announcement.

Prizes: All participants will receive a Surprise Gift and the winners 🏆 from each category will receive their Award Certificate by email. The winning entries will be featured in the social media pages for the whole world to see 👀. Winner's photo or video (as per the winner's preference) will also be posted along with their winning entry.

 Judging Criteria: All artworks will be judged based on the following criteria and the judge's decision is final.
  • Adherence to the topic or theme of the contest. 
  • Creativity.
  • Uniqueness / Originality.
  • Aesthetic Quality ( Design, Composition, Color/Tones).
  • Selection and application of the materials used.
  • Quality of the Artwork submitted.

 Rights: Content submitted will appear in website page and social media sites with credit given to submitting artist without any transfer of rights belonging to the artist. Deepa Krishnan reserves the right to remove files from the page without prior notice.
